With only a handful of foals currently on the ground
Lee-Land Caper is poised to make a "splash" in the world of
Classic Shetlands. His daughters catch the eye and hold it,
just as he does (as of 2003 all his ASPC foals are fillies). His
first foal crop in 2002 included Royal Caper's First Edition
who now belongs to Ed and Jacki Loomis of Lincoln, NE and
Royal Czarina, a flashy Modern Pleasure mare who has
joined the broodmare band.

Caper himself made a splash in the show ring in 2000 as a
two-year-old. He placed well at the National Shetland
Congress for his co-owner and breeder, Bob Leland.

Royal Pony Farm has maintained a partnership with Robert
Leland of Lee-Land Ponies for some 35 years. The Lee-Land
broodmares reside at Royal Pony Farm and are an integral
part of the broodmare herd. Caper is the Lee-Land
contribution to the stallion herd and his dam line
exemplifies the high quality, beautiful ponies that the
Lee-Land breeding program is known for. When asked the
difference between a Royal pony and a Lee-Land pony Bob
Leland responds "Nothing but the prefix on the registration
papers".
