Shetland Ponies since 1944!
It all started in 1944 when loving parents, Howard & Arris
Richardson, bought their first child her first pony.  That pony, know
affectionately as "Queeny", was Malta and she was #22127 in the
American Shetland Pony Club Stud Book.  She was sired by #21770
Silver Nevada and out of #19715 Sierra Vista.  When purchased she
was in foal to #22440 Jolly Crescent and thus begins the story of
Royal Pony Farm..............

Howard passed away in 1999 but Royal Pony Farm is still a family
affair.  Arris still has a large herd of broodmares in residence at the
Story City, IA farm that she and Howard purchased in 1958 where
son Brian helps out.  Daughter Donna Norcross lives just 5 miles
away and the Royal Pony Farm herdsires reside at her farm near
Roland, IA along with another sizable band of broodmares and the
young stock.  Youngest daughter Shirley Moore and her husband
Robert also raise a few "Royal" ponies at their farm near Amarillo,
TX.  Click

direct descendents of Queeny in the Royal Pony
Farm herd today.

As you browse this site you will notice a number of ponies with the Lee-Land
prefix.  Howard Richardson and Robert Leland formed a partnership over 35
years ago that continues to this day.   The Lee-Land ponies reside at Royal
Pony Farm and are members of the Royal Pony Farm family.
